DR. DAVID MANSET

Dr. David Manset is CEO of Be-Studys, a Swiss digital transformation company specialized in blockchain, big data and AI, part of the Be-Ys group. Over the last decade, he architected large-scale international big data and blockchain platforms, including My Health My Data. MHMD is an innovative, GDPR compliant blockchain designed to share sensitive personal information. As announced on their website, the platform « stems from the urgency of securing patient data, reducing « by design » the risk of identity theft and privacy breaches, and introducing a new way to share private information empowering their primary owners, the patients. »

The platform will be unveiled at the European Commission’s Digital Assembly in Sofia, June 25th-26th.

 

Dr. David Manset is a member of the strategic military reserve for the central direction of the Service of Armed Forces, at the Ministry of Defense, in France. He punctually acts as an expert advisor for the European Commission, REA, DG CONNECT and DG HEALTH, as well as at the United Nations, more specifically the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). He is lead advocate blockchain at the European Federation of Cyber Security Experts (EFCSE) and liaison agent between ISO TC 307 and ITU in the context of blockchain standardization.

As an active member of the blockchain community, he develops and supports various initiatives such as PTwist, a cryptocurrency built to encourage plastic recycling. David is also an ICO advisor for Lympo and Bolttcoin, two companies encouraging their customers to live a healthy lifestyle.

 

KAT KUZMESKAS

Kat Kuzmeskas, MPH is the Co-Founder and CEO of SimplyVital Health, Inc. She founded the company as a solution for problems she faced as a hospital administrator at Yale New Haven Health. Solutions include support for data security, care-coordination, post-hospital data, communications, and analytics for decision making and risk management.

The main application is called ConnectingCare and runs on SimplyVital Health’s own HIPAA-compliant blockchain: Health Nexus (learn more about what is Health Nexus).The platform augments existing healthcare entities to extract data and create care pathway flexibility, prospectively track financials, maintain immutable records, and accurately monitor analytics specifically for Bundled Payments. SimplyVital Health utilizes machine learning & AI to improve providers risk scores and assessments for their patients.

 

Named among Fortune Magazine’s 34 leaders who are changing healthcare, Kat is building awareness around the use of blockchain in the healthcare industry. With a secure, healthcare-friendly protocol, SimplyVital Health hopes to address the $300 billion-dollar value-based care market and leverage the development of many applications in this area. As stated in their whitepaper, “Tools developed by SVH and other participants allow care team to create immutable record; provide care pathway transparency; and leverage accurate, near real-time analytics across facilities.

Prior to founding SimplyVital Health, Katherine was the Program Manager of the Center for Musculoskeletal Care for Yale New Haven Health. She was also a strategic planner for the medicine and surgery service lines at Yale New Haven Health and designed an enterprise wide care management dashboard at a statewide community health center network. She received a full ride and attained a 4.0 in her Master of Public Health program with a certificate in leadership. Kat is a 2007 Rio Grande Valley Teach For America Alumnus.

 

JIM NASR

Jim Nasr is the VP of Technology & Innovation at Synchrogenix, a Certara company. Jim leads strategy and implementation of emerging technologies with the goal of improving patient outcome and transform life sciences. Blockchain, open APIs, real-time data services and machine learning are a few of the groundbreaking technologies used to achieve this objective.

Prior to joining Synchrogenix, Jim was the Chief Software Architect at the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Jim led a number of initiatives around modernization of CDC’s public health systems, through design and implementation of interoperable software (based on microservices and modern DevOps), data as a service, blockchain and open source software. Prior to CDC, Jim was the CEO and co-founder of Armedia, a technology firm focused on building enterprise solutions for managing unstructured data.

Jim has more than twenty years of experience in the technology industry, with over a decade as a founder/entrepreneur profitably growing Armedia from inception to over 100 employees, and a 5-time Inc. 5000 awardee. Jim has co-authored several technology books, guest lectured for a number of universities and spoken globally at numerous industry events, including many in recent months on blockchain and open technologies.

Jim is a Technical Fellow at pioneering digital identity, non-profit EP3 Foundation, on the Industry Advisory Board of the College of Computer Engineering at Kennesaw State University, a mentor for the machine learning accelerator Cyberlaunch, and on advisory for a number of blockchain startups. He has an MBA from the University of Connecticut, a BS in Computer Science and Statistics from Coventry University and resides in Atlanta, GA.

HEATHER FLANNERY

Heather Flannery is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Obesity Prevention, Policy, and Management, Inc. (« Obesity PPM »), an innovative provider of disease management, population health, research administration, and information technology managed services for health systems. In November 2017, Obesity PPM announced a strategic partnership with Dapps.ia to bring fully-blockchain-enabled management services to the health sector in the Americas. The partnership will focus on applications linked to chronic diseases, clinical trials management, cybersecurity and IoT.

Heather has driven continuous business model innovation via technology early adoption throughout her 23-year career as an entrepreneur and strategist. She has consulted in the public sector in context of international development, and brings a global health perspective to her initiatives. Ms. Flannery is a broad, lateral thinker who applies complex adaptive systems theory to identify, advance, and course-correct the critical path to progress against very large-scale macroscopic challenges, focusing in the health sector since 2006. Due to her personal life experience, Ms. Flannery is intrinsically motivated to impact population health and economic prosperity through non-communicable disease prevention and treatment. She builds mission-driven organizations aligned by shared values: making measurable societal contributions, creating economically sustainable interventions, and prioritizing diversity and inclusion.
